'River Bend'

$12,000.00

No. 11 in the Light Coming in Through Cracks Series, 2018-2021.

Un-manipulated, naturally-oxidized (rusted), used/discarded metal Found Object. 36” x 15” x 4.5”.

Found on the banks of a nearby river in Montana in Spring 2020. It was during one of my first outings with my son after the initial madness of COVID-19 wore off. I'm still not sure what it is. And I have no idea where it came from. All I know is that it was sitting there washed up on shore as we balanced barefoot on partially submerged river rocks nearby.

I love how it has an almost accordion-like compromising fold. It was chosen as part of this Series for its compositional balance and simple charm. I also appreciate it’s scale and un-apologetic presence.
