'9. Wilson'

$4,000.00

No. 9 in the Light Coming in Through Cracks Series, 2018-2021.

Un-manipulated, naturally-oxidized (rusted), used/discarded metal Found Object, on painted salvaged cotton sailcloth with cotton and synthetic wool on plywood. 24” x 24” x 2.5”.

I named this piece Wilson because I see a face in it, which reminds me of Wilson the volleyball in the Tom Hanks movie Caseaway. Originally, it was names Gasoline Alley because it looked like something you’d see on a gar related to the gas tank or muffler? But I couldn’t get away from the face. That face. So I named it Wilson. Then I laughed because Wilson, and well, you know who you are :)
