'8. Wahe Guru'

$4,000.00

No. 8 in the Light Coming in Through Cracks Series, 2018-2021.

Un-manipulated, naturally-oxidized (rusted), used/discarded metal Found Object, on painted salvaged cotton sailcloth with cotton and synthetic wool on plywood. 24” x 24” x 2.5”.

Wahe Guru is Sanskrit, and ancient Vedic language popular in yoga circles. It means, in the most simplest of terms, praise what brings us from darkness to light. I named this piece Wahe Guru because, though I don’t know it is and yes I totally found it this way, it reminds me of an Indian temple, or like something you would see in a place like Marrakesh. Therefore it reminds me of the few years I was doing Kundalini Yoga, a rare form of yoga and mediation. Wahe Guru was one of my favorite chants. Leave feedback.
