No. 1 Humble Beginnings

Unmanipulated, naturally-oxidized (rusty) metal Found Object on painted salvaged canvas with cotton and wool on plywood. 24 x 24 x 1.5. $20,000

I’m not really sure why I call this one Humble Beginnings. Or as my son would say, Humble Begendings. You see, there’s a beginning and a begending. But I digress. I’m not sure why I call this one Humble Beginnings, but I do. Maybe cause the shape and form of the found object is so plain. So simple. I believe it is some sort of industrial staple, but we can’t be sure. It’s very humble, to me. That’s what I see. What do you see?
